YARRABILBA ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AND PUBLIC ARTWORK COMMISSION
Congratulations to Daniel Wallwork who has been selected as Artist in Residence for Lendlease’s new Yarrabilba community in Queensland. As Artist in Residence Daniel Wallwork will be developing a new public artwork commission for the Yarrabilba community.

The Yarrabilba project is a Lendlease master-planned community situated approximately 40 kilometres south-east of Brisbane and approximately 30 kilometres north-west of Southport.

In 2015 Lendlease developed a comprehensive public art strategy for the new Lendlease community of Yarrabilba. The strategy proposes a sustainable public art program for Yarrabilba’s community, to be developed and delivered over a 30 year period.

The Display Village artwork will be developed during Daniel Wallwork’s time as Artist in Residence with the community. The artworks will result in play-based forms that reflect Yarrabilba’s layered history and community aspirations for the future.

With a background in the automotive spraying trade, Daniel Wallwork is an artist whose practice is strongly influenced by contemporary car culture and street art. Daniel began his career as a practising artist in 2000, and has exhibited extensively across Australia. He has been a finalist in a number of art prizes and has works in many public, corporate and private collections including Artbank, Cairns Regional Gallery,Gold Coast City Gallery and Ipswich Regional Gallery.
