SEEING PICTURES, READING WORDS

The fragile relationship between seeing, perception and understanding is explored in REBECCA BEARDMORE's exhibition SEEING BETWEEN which opens at Artereal Gallery 6-8 pm on Thursday 3 April 2008 .

These filmy images have a fugitive presence that is almost an absence. Now you see it - now you don't.

The painterly photographic images of androgynous faces and figures lightly kiss the sleek surfaces of zinc, acrylic or embossed rag paper. The sleek surfaces partially reflect the viewer and challenge the limitations of our visual experience.
