Cornelia Burless lives on a farm in the Northern Rivers and combines this rural experience with nostalgic images from personal photographs and fairytales from her European heritage. Her new paintings merge traditional and popular culture and use contemporary techniques to create subtly subversive works.

Cornelia Burless has exhibited extensively in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria since being selected twice for  the emerging artists showcase “Off the Wall”  both at Art Melbourne and Art Sydney.  Her works are in private collections throughout the USA, Europe and Australia.
